Overview

Ochapowace Prospect

The Ochapowace/Chacachas Prospect is 78,000 acres and is located 130 kilometers east of Regina, the capital city of Saskatchewan.

While there are no wells within the prospect area deep enough to intersect the potash bearing beds, there is data from seven historical oil wells located near the Ochapowace/Chacachas Prospect, and they are presented in the table below.

The potash beds in Saskatchewan are known to stretch for hundreds of kilometers. So the likelihood of potash bearing beds occurring within the prospect area are surmised by the presence of potash occurring in wells surrounding the prospect.

Well Data Near The Ochapowace/Chacachas Prospect

Encanto Projects are Located in the Heart of Potash Alley Staked Lands

The Esterhazy Member is the thickest of the potash-bearing beds present in the area of the Ochapowace/Chacachas Prospect, averaging about 39 feet (12 meters) thick.  Worsley and Fuzesy’s (1979) Figure 7.3 suggests that the White Bear member potash bed is present in the area of the prospect and that it is around 15 feet (5 meters) thick.  The Belle Plaine Member is present in 3 wells and may be present on the prospect.  Holter’s economic potential map of the Patience Lake Member and Figure 10.4 show that the Patience Lake Member does not occur under the Ochapowace/Chacachas Prospect, which agrees with the data in Table 10.1.
